ARLINGTON -- Kathryn Ollie McGuffey Wieder Herrington went into her Savior's arms on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at an Arlington hospital.
Service: A celebration of Kathy's life will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 5851 New York Ave., Arlington. Visitation: Her family will welcome visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
Kathryn was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Frognot (near Blue Ridge) to John and Ollie McGuffey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ollie McGuffey; brothers, Tullus and L.T. McGuffey; sister, Joy Fagg; and first husband Charles F. Wieder Jr.
Survivors: Kathryn is survived by her husband, Kenneth Herrington of Arlington; daughter, Karen and her husband, Mike LiBassi, of Waco; son, Marty and wife, Bonnie Wieder, of North Richland Hills; grandsons, Nick LiBassi and his wife, Laura, Casey, Collin and Christian Wieder; granddaughters, Jessica LiBassi and Carleigh Wieder; and great-grandchildren Nate, Peter and Annie LiBassi.
