SERVICES TO HEAL FAMILIES

Cremation Services

For many families, cremation is a dignified and respectful way to remember and honor loved ones that have passed away. Once in our care, your loved one is our highest priority and will remain with us throughout the entire process, as we own and operate our own crematory.

The Ten Touchstones of Care

1. Your Loved One Never Leaves Our Care

Unlike many funeral homes that outsource cremations to third-party providers, Wade Funeral Home and Crematory has its own onsite crematory. This ensures that your loved one is always under the care and supervision of our certified staff throughout the entire process.

2. Safeguarding Personal Identity

From the moment your loved one enters our care, a personal identification band is placed on them for secure tracking throughout their time with us.

3. Unique Tracking System

Upon arrival, your loved one is entered into our tracking system and assigned a unique identification number, which coincides with a QR identification band. This number is used at every stage of the cremation process along with a specific number that will be stamped into an identification disk, ensuring continuous monitoring. All personal belongings are securely cataloged and stored for return to the family.

4. Family Identification

Before cremation, our team will prepare your loved one by bathing and dressing them in family-provided clothing or a gown. We then arrange for a family member or representative to positively identify your loved one prior to proceeding.

5. Checks and Balances

To ensure full compliance with legal and family authorizations, two staff members—one from the funeral home and one cremation technician—will review and sign off on all paperwork and permits before the cremation is approved.

6. Cremation Log Book

Prior to cremation, all details are recorded in our cremation log book, which includes the name of the individual, the date and time of cremation, their identification number, and the name of the crematory operator. This log is signed by the cremation technician at both the start and completion of the process.

7. Details During the Cremation

A cremation checklist, identification card, and metal identification tag are placed on the outside of the cremation chamber for the entirety of the process, ensuring continuous tracking and verification.

8. Details After the Cremation

Once the cremation is complete, the cremated remains, along with the metal identification tag, are carefully placed into the selected urn. The identification card is filed in our permanent records for future reference.

9. Return of the Cremated Remains

Once the cremated remains are prepared, our staff will reach out to schedule a convenient pick-up time. For your convenience, we also offer personal delivery to your home, a cemetery, or any location of your choosing.

10. Celebration of Life

We offer assistance in planning a funeral or memorial service to celebrate the life of your loved one. This service can be arranged either before or after cremation, providing a meaningful opportunity for family and friends to gather, pay tribute, and share cherished memories.

Chapel Service

When there is no viewing and funeral service involved, next is the cremation and the ashes will either be scattered, returned to the family or buried in a family cemetery.

Memorial Service

The funeral service can be held in a church or any other venue the family chooses. We work with our families to design a service that honors their loved one with stories, music, or scripture. We also have life celebrants that lead services where clergy may not be chosen.

Graveside Service

A graveside or committal service is typically held immediately following the funeral service but it can also be a small intimate gathering of those closest to you.
