Zelmer Lee Rock

Zelmer Lee Rock, 89, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in Arlington. Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211. Visitation: 8-9 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Zelmer was born on June 16, 1931 in McAlester, Oklahoma to John E. Rock and Georgia B. Anderson Rock. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a Supply Sargent. He was an active member and greeter of Eastwood Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Arlington, Texas. Zelmer retired as an executive with AT&T. He enjoyed wood carving and painting. Zelmer was devoted to his family and took great pride in his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Peggy Marie Burke Rock. Survivors: Son, Barry Lee Rock and wife, Lexa; daughter, Sonya Sanford and husband, Tracy; grandchildren, Jory, Patrick, Shelby, MacKenzie, Michelle; and one great-grandson, Luke Allan.
