Yolanda Ramirez Odom, 66, was born in Arkansas City, Kansas on April 5, 1951. She was living at Heritage Oaks Rehab and Nursing Facility in Arlington, Tx where she passed away peacefully Monday morning, February 12, 2018.
A memorial visitation service will be in the Chapel of Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, on Thursday, February 15th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Her mother and father, Emanuel and Wanda Payne Ramirez moved their family to Texas in 1963 and settled in Arlington. Yolanda graduated high school at Sam Houston in 1969. She continued her education at Tarrant County Community College and also studied at the University of North Texas and graduated with a BBA in 1977.
Throughout her life, Yolanda worked in sales, education, and local and state government, but most importantly, she was a homemaker. Yolanda was an amazing mother to her two children Lauren and Lawson. She loved them more than all the stars in the sky and sand on the beaches.
Yolanda was diagnosed with an uncommon neurodegenerative brain disease called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy(PSP) in May of 2017. She had been managing these symptoms admirably and bravely and endured and fought the effects of her disease to the maximum lengths possible.
In lieu of flowers we would like to note the CurePSP organization by donating to www.psp.org you can help research, educate, and support patients and families suffering with this disease.
