Wynona Ruth Morales

Wynona Ruth Morales 1963 – 2021 July 17, 1963 - 57 years old Wynona Ruth was born in Dallas on July 17, 1963, to William Richard Scott and Peggy June Scott (Dalton). She was raised in Dallas and due to her father's work, Wynona moved around a bit living in Amarillo (1966), Dumas (1971), Waco (1972), Austin (1979), Brenham (1980) and Wichita Falls (1980). Wynona graduated in 1982 from S.H Rider High School in Wichita Falls, Texas. Wynona endured a bad accident where she lost most of her hearing, having to learn sign language, adjust to wearing hearing aids. This did not deter her in any way, if anything it just made her more determined, more understanding of others and up to any challenge. Wynona became a mother to Amanda Danielle in 1986 and to Jonathan Richard in 1987. Speaking of challenges, she rose to the raising of the two toddlers with limited hearing. In 2009 Wynona married for a second time to Michael Anthony, who became a husband, a stepfather and a grandfather within the first year of her marriage to him. Her first grandchild, Lillian Jewel shared a commonality of hearing loss and always strived to teach her not to fear what she could not hear. Lillian also took after her grandmother, sharing the gift of understanding and compassion toward others. In 2017 Wynona welcomed her second grandchild, her grandson Bennett Elias. Her world just kept expanding as she was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her third grandchild in September of 2021. Wynona lived in many worlds; the blind community due to her father's blindness and mother's legally blind status, the deaf community where she had many friends and the service dog community from her father's dogs that helped him traverse the world. Throughout her life Wynona endured many challenges due to her hearing, faced adversities with strength, grace and love. Her heart was bigger than life, her compassion beyond infinity. But she could also be a momma bear when needed. Wynona will be very much missed, with an emptiness encompassing all her loved ones. Wynona's strength and adversity facing will be an inspiration for all. Wynona is survived by her husband Michael, her daughter Amanda and son Jonathan, her brother Troy, her father William Richard, granddaughter Lillian and grandson Bennett. Wynona was preceded in death by her mother Peggy who left us in July of 2020.
