William D. "Bill" Farris

ARLINGTON-William D. “Bill” Farris passed away on January 19, 2019 after a brief illness surrounded by his family. Celebration of Life: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 24, at Fielder Church, 2011 S. Fielder Rd., Arlington. Graveside Service: 3:00 p.m. at Bethel Cemetery, Weatherford. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethel Cemetery Association, 2605 Jessup Trail, Arlington Texas 76006. W.D. was born in the family home on February 26, 1933 in Weatherford, Texas to Ridley and Estelle Farris. He was the CEO of Farris Enterprises until his retirement. (He never actually retired.) He married his high school sweetheart, Verina Fowler, on October 25, 1951 at his grandmother and grandfather Narry's home in Weatherford. Together they had five children, Scotty (Rhonda), Suzann (Gary), Trisha (David), Stevan (Nikki) and Allan, twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. W.D. served in the U.S. Navy. He was President of the Bethel Cemetery Association in Weatherford for over twenty years. He was loved by all who knew him. He was a great father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a true and faithful friend. He will be greatly missed. W.D. has joined those who preceded him in heaven, his parents, sister, Ruby Lee Fletcher and infant brother, Bobby Mac.
