ARLINGTON -- William Wallace "Wally" Wharton, 92, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, in Arlington.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Wally was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Bartlesville, Okla., to William Wallace Wharton Sr. and Lois Elkins Wharton. He married Eloise Detro on Christmas Day 1949. An Arlington resident for 40 years, he retired from Bell Helicopter. He was a longtime member of Beacon Church of Christ in Gun Barrell City. Wally enjoyed family, fishing, hunting, his lake house at Cedar Creek, and his ranch outside of Kemp.
Survivors: Wife of 66 years, Eloise Wharton; son, Mark Wallace Wharton and wife, Harriet A.; daughter, Marla Wharton; brother, Edward C. Wharton and wife, Martha; grandchildren, Sean Fatzinger, Samuel Fatzinger, Seth Fatzinger, Olivia Wharton and Kirsten Wharton; and great-grandchildren, Joan Fatzinger and Shane Fatzinger.
