SAN ANGELO -- William N. Blissit, 92, died after a short illness in Arlington.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
William was born December 30, 1921 in San Marcos, Texas. He married Anna E. Stearns November 16, 1947 in Sinton, Texas. William was a veteran of WWII and served in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany. He was a member of the American Legion, the San Angelo Knights of the Round Table, and served on the Board of Directors of the San Angelo TWC Credit Union for 17 years.
He was active in church activities and served on the vestry of Good Shepherd including positions of Treasurer, Stewardship Chairman, and Senior Warden.
William was employed by the Texas Employment Commission for 37 years and retired in August 1984 as Regional Director
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Wilbur and Graford.
Survivors: Wife, Anna; sister, Joyce J. Hunt of Sinton, Texas; son, William Michael and wife, Candace Sue; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Deborah and Andrew; and four great grandchildren.
