William Joseph Mccormack

William Joseph McCormack, 70, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020 in Arlington. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 16, 2020 at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in honor of his wife, to the Michael J. Fox Foundation or the Parkinson's Foundation. "Bill", as he was known to friends and family, was born in Albany, New York on August 2, 1950. He grew up in the Maryland/Virginia area. After high school in 1970, he joined the United States Navy and proudly served as a Hospital Corpsman with the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1973. A year before his discharge, he married the love of his life, Mary Lee Collin. His hobbies included woodworking, playing games on the computer, watching sports, and collecting sports memorabilia. Even after moving to Texas in 1980, he maintained his lifelong devotion to his beloved Washington football team. He also had a passion for bowling and developed many close friendships over the years. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Mary McCormack, his "pride and joy" daughter, Cynthia May "Cindy" Hodges, and three wonderful grandchildren, Haylee, Spencer, and Abby, who will greatly miss their "Papa Mac".
