William Joseph Lavallee

William Joseph “Bill” LaVallee, 83, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023 in Arlington.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday, August 3, at the funeral home. Interment: Hawkins Cemetery, Arlington.

Bill was born on March 26, 1940 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to John A. LaVallee and Alma Pavek LaVallee. He was a graduate from Arlington High School, Class of 1958. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1959. He married the love of his life, Laura Elizabeth Klapper on March 25, 1960. Bill retired from General Motors after 34 years of service working with GMA’s contractor for many years.

He was an avid sports fan and coached Optimist Club football with his best friend, Don Strother for 30 years. He coached various youth sports throughout the years. Bill played semi-pro football and baseball. He attended AHS football games through the 90’s. He was a huge local sports fans. Sport highlights include Cowboys vs. Miami Superbowl in 1972, multiple Indy 500’s, lots of Dallas Maverick games, and the Big Final 2011 game with Adam.

He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alma (Pavek) LaVallee.

Survivors: Wife, Laura “Beth” Elizabeth LaVallee; daughter, Kandise Davidson and husband, Jeffrey; grandson, John “Adam” Davidson and wife, Carley; and granddaughter, Kaycee Elizabeth Davidson; son, John Christopher LaVallee and wife, Joahnna; brother, Fred LaVallee; sister, Lynn Pate and husband, Howard; nieces, Kristina Goldsworthy, Judy Hodge and Terri Wilkerson; and nephew, Steven Pate; second family, Sharon and Lynn Wells, Kathleen Simpson, Olivia Swanner, and Caroline and Jerry Drews.
