William Eugene “Bill” Fairweather, 72, passed from this life peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's.
Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, February 20, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Rd., Arlington.

Bill was born September 30, 1947 in Springfield, Illinois and grew up on a farm. He graduated from the Ball-Chatham School District, where he was involved in many sports and social activities. He graduated from Western Illinois University in 1971, where he met his wife, Jane. He worked for Service Merchandise from 1972 – 1994, rising to Regional Manager for the Western region. From 1995 until retirement, he owned and operated Sun Ice.
Always the sports fanatic, Bill continued to play tennis and golf throughout his life. Even when life became difficult, his family and sports made life more meaningful. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son and friend.
Survivors: Wife of 47 years, Jane Fairweather; daughter, Jenna Romero and husband, Chad; mother, Rosemary Fairweather; sister, Deborah Origliosso and husband, Jim; brother, Tom Fairweather; and grandchildren, and Elise, Gracyn and Nicholas Romero.
