ARLINGTON -- William "Bill" E. Leonard, 73, beloved husband, father, grandpa and brother, answered God's call home Friday, April 5, 2013.
Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2100 N. Davis Drive, Arlington. Interment: 1 p.m. Thursday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Pkwy., Arlington, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
Bill was born in West Point, N.Y., June 30, 1939. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and St. Mary's University in San Antonio. Bill married Gloria Kaye Leonard, his loving wife of 55 years, on Dec. 19, 1959.
Bill enjoyed a 45-year career with Xerox Corporation, establishing long-lasting relationships with customers who would only do business with "Bill" because of his moral character. He passed on his strong work ethic and enjoyment of life to his children. He was a gift from God to his family, those who knew him and to those who did not through his charity to others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Col. Amel Leonard and Eleanor Leonard; sister, Margret Harrington; and his son, Brian Leonard.
Survivors: Wife, Gloria Kaye Leonard; children, William T. Leonard of Arlington, Richard K. Leonard of Cedar Hill and Suzanne Hughes and husband, Ted, of Herndon, Va.; grandchildren, Brandon and Chase Leonard of Arlington, Amber Leonard of Tavernier, Fla., and Amanda, Camille and Anna Hughes of Herndon, Va.
