Billy was born on June 20, 1951, the son of the late retired Cmdr. Francis M. Coonrod Jr., U.S. Coast Guard, and Oleta Faye Orr Coonrod. Billy grew up in California and went to school in California, Connecticut and Texas. He lived his entire adult life in Arlington with his mother.
Billy had a passion for bowling, jigsaw puzzles, "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy," playing the slot machines in casinos east to west coast and, above all, Elvis Presley. He loved completing math workbooks and copying scriptures and attending church services. Billy won a number of bowling trophies over his life and has a wealth of special friends with whom he worked with at ARC and enjoyed leisure time with as well.
He always had a zest for life and his happy outlook on life was infectious. Billy would bring a smile to the face of every person he encountered. We will miss him greatly, but his spirit will be with us forever.
