ARLINGTON -- William Charles Byrd, 70, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, in Arlington.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, with Rev. Brenda Beaver officiating. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Bill was born on April 20, 1944, in Fort Worth to Clifton John Byrd and Mildred Sheffield Byrd. He received his B.A. in English at Central State University in Edmond, Okla. Bill worked in the concrete industry sales followed by a short career as an elementary school teacher. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Arlington.
Bill loved sports and never missed a game of either one of his kids. He coached many of their teams throughout their childhood.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Clifton J. Byrd, in 1963.
Survivors: Son, Matt Byrd and wife, Ashley; daughter, Angie Byrd and husband, Chip Mallari; mother, Mildred Spence; grandchildren, Justin Byrd and Lisana Mallari; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
