After attending Murray State in Kentucky, Bill married the love of his life, Shirley Tice Shelton. Bill worked for Baker Hughes Service Tools for 41 years. He started his journey as a roughneck on an oil rig in Indiana and ended his career as vice president of marketing in Houston. Baker Hughes constructed an American flag and plaque in his honor for his loyalty, honesty and strong work ethic. Throughout his life, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd-degree Scottish Rite Mason. Bill also served as deacon for the First Baptist Church of Granbury. Serving his fellow man was Bill's passion in life. Whether through his church, the Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, or helping his fellow neighbor, Bill lived his faith in Christ through his acts of generosity and kindness. When Bill met his personal Savior in heaven I'm sure he heard the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Shelton; mother, Cassie Hector Shelton; father, Ellis Shelton; brother, George Shelton; sisters, Virginia Garrison and Oleen Barron. Survivors: Daughter, Robin Shelton Bishop and husband, Bryan Bishop; grandson, Bradley William Bishop and wife, Alesia; granddaughter, Kristin Ann Bishop, all of Arlington; and many wonderful nieces and nephews with loved families.
