Willard Thomas St. Ama, 89, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022 in Arlington.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday, June 16, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Visitation: 10-11 a.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside Service: 3 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at Oakwood Cemetery, Corsicana.
Memorials: Donations may be made to Fielder Church, Arlington, TX or Mission Arlington.
Willard was born on March 19, 1933 in Kerens, Texas to Rowlan St. Ama and Mary Pauline Collins “Mott” St. Ama. He became a Christian at the age of 12 in 1942. Willard married the love of his life, Joyce Loree Rose on November 2, 1951. He was ordained a Deacon in 1967 at First Baptist Church in Trinidad, Texas. Willard became a member of Fielder Church in 1971 when he moved to Arlington, Texas.
He graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a registered professional mechanical engineer and worked for TP & L and Texas Utilities where he worked for 39 plus years.
Willard had a love for art and music. He was an artist who enjoyed oil painting. He loved to play the guitar and sing. He enjoyed country and gospel music.
Willard was an avid golfer. He enjoyed playing 42 and dominoes with family and friends. He loved to travel the world and enjoyed learning about different cultures.
Willard loved to play baseball and enjoyed watching his great grandson play the game. He dearly loved his family and will be missed by all those who knew him.
Survivors: Wife, Joyce St. Ama; daughter, Judy Loree Baker and husband, Tom; brothers, Kenneth Dale St. Ama and wife, Pam, and Hoyt Wayne St. Ama and wife, Teddy; granddaughter, Stacy Loree Dissinger and husband, Mark; great-grandson, Clayton Landry Dissinger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
