Wayne Warren, a beloved father, husband, and grandfather, passed away peacefully March 28th at the age of 94, surrounded by his family at his home. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lelia Lewis, and is survived by his devoted wife of almost 63 years, Linda Warren; their five children: Mark (and wife Jennifer), Bret, Kelly (and husband Rudy), Scott (and wife Anna Marie), and Kim (and husband Jason); 10 grandchildren: Samantha, Mallory, Sandy, Callie, Cassie, Madison, Olivia, Madelyn, Alex, and Andrew; and 13 great-grandchildren: Violet, Eliza, Sam, Sage, Mia, Micah, Olivia, Maisie, Elkin, Phinneas, Haddi, Pip, and Halsey. He is also survived by his sister, Melva Lewis Hughes.
Born on March 21, 1931, in Paris, Texas, Wayne cherished his childhood memories spent with his Mama and Papa, often helping at their family grocery store. He later moved to Dallas to pursue a career in banking, where he met Linda Edwards in 1961. They married in April of 1962, beginning a beautiful life together.
Wayne had a successful career in banking that spanned over 30 years before he and Linda ventured into their own business, founding Linway Leasing, a trucking company they operated for 20 years. They shared a love for adventure that led them to purchase their first motorhome in 1992, and they traveled the country for over two decades, creating unforgettable memories.
Wayne had a deep passion for classic cars, music, and travel. The sound of his eclectic music collection always filled their home, setting the tone for a life full of joy and warmth. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his boundless love for his family, and his unwavering care for those he loved. His favorite sayings, such as "Be careful, let me know if you need anything, and call me when you get there," will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. He also had a special fondness for animals, treating each furry companion as a cherished member of the family.
Visitation will be held at Wade Funeral Home & Crematory Wednesday, April 2, from 6 - 8 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Wade Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, April 3, at 10 am, with a graveside following at Moore Memorial Gardens at 12 pm.
Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the stories we share, the laughter he brought into our lives, and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
Wayne will forever remain in our hearts, and we will treasure every memory of the time we spent with him.
