Wayne Harold Walker

November 15, 1938 — January 25, 2022

Wayne H. Walker, 83, of Arlington, Texas, died unexpectedly on January 25, 2022, from complications of the Corona virus. His loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.
Wayne was born in 1938, to Marvin and Beulah Walker in Newkirk, Oklahoma. At the age of 8, Wayne began working on the family farm with his Grandfather, who had suffered a heart attack. Wayne especially enjoyed rounding up the cattle on horseback.
Wayne worked his way through college by raising and selling calves and working as a short order cook at a “greasy spoon.” A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Wayne sang in the O.S.U. Men’s Glee Club, played the trumpet, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Business. He furthered his education at Southern Methodist University’s Law School.
Wayne was passionate about his family and enjoyed including them in the many do-it-yourself projects he dreamed up. From refurbishing a home for his new wife to digging a huge do-it-yourself underground pool, his projects were always big ideas that his wife and kids would not only help with, but also learn from.
Wayne worked in several insurance companies, banks, and savings and loans, over the years. He eventually became vice president of several commercial lending companies as well.
While working extra hours and commuting to and from Dallas, and other various North Texas cities, Wayne was good to find time to play with his children. In his later years, he was able to spend even more time with his four grandchildren. They were his pride and joy.
Anyone who knew Wayne knew that he was a kind, brilliant, and very talented man. More than that, he was a true believer and follower of Jesus Christ.
Wayne’s family and friends will miss him more than words can say, but they look forward to the day that they will meet Wayne in heaven and sing God’s praises together, once again.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Janice, his two children, David Walker and Nancy Walker, as well as his two sisters, Marva Wiemers and Myra Stuemky. Wayne was also blessed with four grandchildren, Annalise, Nathaniel, Samuel and Joshua Walker.
