Dr. Wayne Agnew

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Wayne Agnew, on March 2, 2022, in Keller, Texas. Wayne was 88 years old when he joined his wife, Wanda, in Heaven, who had passed away only 30 days earlier. We are missing both of them greatly, but thankful that they are together for eternity.

Dr. Agnew was born on January 4, 1934 in Dallas, TX, to H. Wayne Agnew and Adeline Reba Hall. He grew up in Galveston and Austin, Texas and graduated from Austin High School in 1951, where he enjoyed playing football.

He went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Texas at Austin. It was there that he met his wife Wanda, whom he married in 1955. Together, they moved to Galveston, Texas, where Wayne attended The University of Texas Medical School. After graduating in 1958, Dr. Agnew then loved serving our country in the US Army as a flight surgeon until 1964.

After completing his residency at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Agnew started his career as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist in Arlington, Texas, establishing the Arlington Women’s Clinic alongside his partner, Dr. Ken Talkington. Besides delivering thousands of babies, Dr. Agnew specialized in infertility treatment, helping countless couples achieve their dreams of building a family. His passion for health and wellness inspired his patients as well as his community. He made a difference in so many lives. As a researcher, he was also instrumental in bringing new treatments to Arlington Memorial Hospital, where he served as Chief of Staff for a number of years.

Wayne and Wanda loved raising their three children in Arlington and were an integral part of this growing community. They enjoyed being very involved in their church community and traveling extensively with many wonderful friends. He also loved hunting, fishing and water skiing with his children.

In his retirement years, Dr. Agnew continued pursuing his passion for health and wellness by promoting research, educating and teaching others in the Juice Plus Community. He loved sharing growing research about the impact of nutrition on our health and was an inspiration to so many.

He is survived by his sons Michael and Scott; Daughter Sheryl Morton; Grandson Michael Morton; Sister-in-law, Sarah Harris; Nieces, Laura (Trae) Stubblefield, Adrienne (Mark) Thannisch ; Nephews, Wayne (Eva) Wilson, Richard (Hope) Wilson, and Craig Harris.

The service for Dr. Wayne Agnew will be held on April 13, at 11:30 am at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas, followed by a reception, then the burial at 2:30 pm at The Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX.

Memorial donations can be made on his behalf to the The Pure Hope Foundation, www.purehopefoundation.com. On their website, choose “Vision Giving” then designate as a memorial gift. Donations will be used for the medical treatment needed by the women who have been rescued.
