ARLINGTON -- Virginia Marie Hampton, 98, passed away on November 21, 2016 in Arlington.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Rd., Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: 6-7 p.m. Sunday with a rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.

Virginia was born on May 24, 1918 in Des Moines, Iowa to George E. Benjamin and Mary C. McGivern Benjamin. She served in the U.S. Navy. Virginia was very involved in Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Virginia had a vivacious personality. Everyone she met was an instant friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hampton on July 12, 2013; daughter, Ginger Hampton Edgerton; and grandson, Stephen Appelman in 2008.
Survivors: Sons, John Joseph Hampton and wife, Janet, and James Eugene Hampton; daughters, Diane Appelman and Patricia Mary Bassett; grandchildren, Kelly Harris, Travis Bassett and wife, Kate, Stacey Chappell and husband, Matthew, Cory Bassett, Dustin Bassett; great-grandson, Derek Bassett; and great-granddaughters, Jeangrey Chappell and Virginia Bassett.
