In 1947, after graduating from Crowell High School, Virginia began her college career at Baylor University and later completed her degree in Uvalde, Texas where she taught elementary school. Virginia married John Walton Raine in 1949 and together they raised their two daughters. Her home was one of warmth and love where she extended kindness to many. In 1978, she married B.F. "Mark" Grillo. They enjoyed many years of traveling in their motor home and wintering at "Happy Trails" in Surprise, Arizona. Later they relocated to Vicksburg Village in Kerrville, TX. Texas. Life was always full with church, friends, and family. Virginia's hands were always busy creating cherished memories through her sewing, quilting, cooking, and writing words of encouragement. In 2014 Virginia moved to Town Village Retirement Community in Arlington, TX to be closer to family. There she enjoyed the many activities, close friendships, and a Christian environment. Virginia's legacy of faith, love, kindness, and generosity is her greatest gift to those who have loved her. We are blessed and infinitely grateful that God gave us the opportunity to share our lives with this amazing woman. She will be sorely missed on this earth, but we look forward to the day that we see her again in heaven. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Rose Monkhouse and husband, Bardisi "Mark" Grillo. She is survived by daughters, Melinda Gibson and husband, Mike, Melodie Waters and husband, Bowen, Linda Bachman and husband, Chuck, Patti Hayden and husband, Greg; son, Patrick Grillo and wife, Natalie; grandchildren, Trey and Laura Gibson, Lauren and Andy Gage, Leigh and Tom Worthley, Beth and Travis Wester, William Grillo, Paige and Piper Hayden, Stacey and Kevin Wodarshi and Scott Baker; and numerous great-grandchildren.
