FORT WORTH -- Virgil L. Vines, 77, peacefully passed from this life Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shrine Hospitals in Houston or Galveston.
Virgil was born Aug. 6, 1936, in Noble, La. He was a devoted family man. He loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with family at the lake.
Virgil was a successful sales and marketing executive in the retail food industry and ran his own company, Virgil Vines & Associates, for 17 years.
Virgil was an active member of the Riverside Masonic Lodge where he served as a worshipful master. He also supported Scottish Rite, Moslah Shrine and other Masonic orders. He was a member of Fielder Church in Arlington.
Virgil was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary Annette Vines, and daughter, Lori Ann Vines Whitaker.
Survivors: Loving son, Dan L. Vines and wife, Cherie; and grandchildren, Clinton D. Vines, Kacie L. Vines, Chad M. Whitaker and Jeffrey S. Whitaker.
