Victor Lohla

January 9, 1946 — October 10, 2024

Victor Douglas Emmanuel Lohla, 78, of Arlington, TX, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on October 10, 2024. Victor was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Evelyn Lohla; his children, Mary Lohla, Jennifer (Paul) Allid, Victor (Julia) Lohla, II, and Vincent Lohla. He was the proud grandfather of Paul Allid Jr., Lance Allid, Brandon Allid, Christian Allid, Brianna Allid, Taylor Lohla and Victor Lohla III. He is also survived by his sisters, Marigen Lohla and Carol Lohla.

Born in Manila, Philippines on Jan. 9, 1946, he was named for the recent victory of the Americans over the Japanese forces in December of 1945. He lost his adored mother at the young age of 13. Vic entered the Divine Word seminary for several years for high school, then decided to come to the United States at the age of 18. He honorably served his country for 12 years in the United States Air Force. He then went on to follow in his father's adventurous and entrepreneurial footsteps, joining and even starting multiple businesses, including AL Williams, Prepaid Legal, SkyMavs Flight School, PASS Inc, among other ventures. He continuously kindled the curiosity of discovering something new, going beyond the daily routine of life and trying anything that was offered to him. He also maintained a generous spirit, gifted from his grandfather. His sisters dedicated their lives to the Focolare Movement, which resonated deeply with him as well, and he loyally supported their Economy of Communion project as a way of helping the poor in need. His steadfast faith in God was a constant throughout all the ups and downs of his life, and in his last years, this faith was reacquired in a stronger and deeper way. He would say that he only wanted to do God's will and that he was in His hands.

Victor lived a full and meaningful life, dedicated to his family, his faith, and his community. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
