PRUETT, Vicki It is with heartbreak that we announce the passing of Vicki Kay Pruett on February 14th, 2023. Services: The family is receiving visitors Thursday evening, February 23rd from 6pm to 8pm at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas. There will be a memorial service Friday, February 24th, at 11am also at Wade Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas with an interment immediately following at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
Vicki was born on January 4, 1949 in Comanche, Texas, and was daughter to Robert Eugene Henninges and Patsy Lou White Henninges. Vicki graduated from East Texas State University in 1970 where she was celebrated as Homecoming Queen, ‘All School Favorite’, a member of Kappa Alpha sorority, and was head cheerleader for ETSU. She married her college sweetheart and beloved husband, Scottie Doyle Pruett, on March 25th, 1972. Vicki worked as an elementary school teacher for 12 years for the Fort Worth ISD and Birdville ISD, where she was able to combine her passion for physical education and motivating children to succeed. In 1982, the Pruett’s moved to South Arlington where they built their family home and began competitive horseback riding through playdays and rodeos.
Vicki loved animals and had a special place in her heart for palomino horses and Australian Shepherds. She was a respected amateur and professional barrel racer and pole bender. Vicki was the biggest cheerleader for her family and for the competition in the barrel racing and pole bending community. She was adored for her kindness, positivity, charm, and light-hearted sense of humor. Vicki always had a smile on her face, and she was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. Her enthusiasm, competitive spirit and love for life will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Henninges. Survivors: She is survived by her mother, Patsy Lou Henninges, of Carlton, Texas, husband Scottie of 51 years, her daughter Summer Pruett, and son Ryan Pruett.
