Valerie Ann Maston

ARLINGTON -- Valerie Ann Cupps Maston (Pahe-thso-ah), 60, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014. Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wade Funeral Home, Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please consider gifts to Community Hospice of Texas. Valerie was born June 9, 1953, in Kansas to Al and Cody Wahwassuck Cupps. She was a member of the Kickapoo Tribe of Kansas. She was a longtime member of the Dallas-Fort Worth Inter-Tribal Association. Her love for children and animals was unsurpassed as she gave so much of her time and love to her family. Valerie was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Reed Maston; her parents, Al and Cody Wahwassuck Cupps; one brother, Allen Cupps; one great-nephew, Chris Pribble. Survivors: Brother, Gerald Cupps Sr.; sisters, Bobby Pribble, Linda Seyeffer and Brenda Cupps; seven nephews; six nieces; 10 great-nephews; eight great-nieces; one great-great-niece; many relatives, both locally and on the Kickapoo Reservation; along with many friends, and her dog companion, Shorty.
