ARLINGTON--Tony Lee Linch, 90 years 7 months old, passed away peacefully June 19, 2019.
Funeral: Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday, June 21, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Visitation: 9-10 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to Fielder Church whose office is at 1323 W. Pioneer Pkwy, Arlington, TX 76013.
Tony was born on Nov. 28, 1928, to Isaac R.B. Linch and Jewell Dennis Linch. Raised on a farm he knew hard work and never shied from it. At 14 years of age he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized in the Bosque River in Iredell. He married his high school sweetheart, Grace Ellen Word, in 1947 and they moved near Dallas where they got jobs. For better jobs they moved to Fort Worth where their 2 daughters were born and Grace became a stay at home mom. In 1953 Tony was hired to work for General Motors at its soon to be completed GM plant in Arlington. He and his family moved to Arlington in 1958 and joined Fielder Road Baptist Church, now called Fielder Church, where he remained a member until his death. After working for 30 years at GM, Tony retired in 1983. He enjoyed his family, a good joke, cowboy poetry, fishing, raising cattle, vacations in Colorado and his vegetable garden.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents R.B. and Jewell Linch; brothers Elbert "Al", J.R. "Cotton" and Billy Mack Linch.
Survivors: Wife of 71 years 7 months and best friend, Gracie; daughters Vicki Mackie (Tommy) and Paula Linch; Grandchildren, Jeff Mackie (Melissa) and Tamsen Mackie Todd (Dusty); Great-granddaughters, Meagan Mackie, Madison Mackie and Cheyenne Todd; Great-grandson, Dakota Todd; as well as nieces and nephews.
