ARLINGTON -- Tommy Franklin Hughes, 82, passed away peacefully in his home in Arlington on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Wade Funeral Home, to be followed by a graveside ceremony in Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington. Visitation: A viewing will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wade Funeral Home.

Tommy was born Nov. 18, 1931, in Center to Ira Hughes and Mildred Kimbro Hughes. After retiring from the United States Air Force as a master sergeant, Tommy worked as a construction superintendent, building many of the homes in the Arlington community. Tommy was an avid gardener and took great pride in maintaining his beautiful yard. He also enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, and spending time with his family.
Tommy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Tommie Jane Hughes; sisters, Marie Croft, Dee Lout and Lottie Favale; and son-in-law David Buller.
Survivors: Tommy is survived by his sons, Billy Hughes and wife, Debbie, Randy Hughes and wife, Marzee; daughters, Pam Buller-Buckley and husband, Steve Buckley, and Kim Cramer and husband, Sean; grandchildren, Brad, Stephanie, Whitney and Chloe; great-grandchildren Ryan, Mackenzie, Conner, Ryley and Carter; and his loving nieces and nephews.
