Thomas W. Maxey Passed away on June 17, 2024 peacefully at his home in Arlington Texas. He hung on for as long as he could with a fight with cancer.
Tom was a strong man very reliable and a good provider for his family, whom he leaves behind his wife Debbie Maxey of 40 years, their son Tyler Maxey, grandson Tyson Maxey, and adopted grandson Cailen Thornton.
Tom also had two daughters, Heather Abutin and Tamara Mclain and 4 granddaughters. Katarina Agular, Kiaunie, Kloie, and Leilani Abutin. He is also survived by 6 siblings, Marry Maxey, Susanne Tozier, James Maxey, Antia Collins, Daniel Maxey and Joseph Maxey and extended family of, six brother-in-law’s, eight sister-in-law’s and enough nieces and nephews to fill up an Ark with two of every kind.
Tom had a passion for gardening that always had abundance of fruit and vegetables that he shared with family, neighbors and friends, he was a fantastic cook and baker and his sweets were always a big hit! At Christmas time, but his real love was fishing and could spend hours out on a lake.
Tom will be deeply missed by his family, and neighbors whom he called good friends.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego California with Army Honorary on July 19, 2024 at 2:30 pm.
Followed by reception at the American Legion Post 6 address: 3563 Adams Ave. San Diego, California 92116. If you wish to send flowers, please send to any non-profit organization of your choice in honor of Tom.
