Thomas George Berl Williams Jr., 74, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021 in Amarillo.
Funeral: 12 noon Monday, July 26, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: 11-12 p.m. Monday, July 26, at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to First United Methodist Church.
Thomas was born on January 1, 1947 in Los Angeles, California to Thomas George Berl Williams Sr. and Velma Faye Sumrow Williams. He was a Boy Scout Explorer and graduated from Arlington High School in 1965.
Thomas was a Vietnam War Veteran having served in the U.S. Airforce. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1979 and worked as a Park Ranger for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. He worked at Coleto Creek Park and as a Park Superintendent for Palo Duro Canyon during the 1980's. Thomas also worked for the City of Amarillo Parks Department and the U.S. Department of Interior Soil Conservation Service. He retired as District Conservationist in Claude, Texas.
Survivors: Mother, Velma Stacey; son, Matthew Williams Winters and wife, Christina; sister, Patricia “Tish” Pingelton and husband, Stu; and grandchildren, Nolan and Kinsley Winters.
