Arlington

Thomas O’Neil Baggett was born in Waco, Texas on January 19, 1949, and passed away February 24, 2025. He was born to Louis and Nelo Gean Baggett, he grew up with his 3 brothers, Steve, Phil and Tim. He was a lifelong resident of Arlington and graduated Arlington High School in 1967. He was a star baseball player and captain of the team as a senior. He remained close to many of his friends from high school throughout his life, but his best friend is the love of his life, Sharon Wilson whom he met when he was 16 years old. They celebrated their 57th anniversary in November, having fulfilled their vows by caring for each other through sickness and in health.

Tommy and Sharon were blessed with four children and 11 beautiful grandchildren. He was the coach for several of his sons’ sports teams and a great influence on all the kid’s he coached. But he really enjoyed watching the best athlete in the family his daughter Lindsey. He was a dedicated supporter of all his grandchildren’s activities often seen and heard on the sidelines. His ideal day was spending time at the family farm with his father, brothers, kids or grandkids. He could spend hours on the tractor mowing, trimming trees or just enjoying the wildflowers. But he was just as happy being in the backyard watching his kid’s and grandkid’s playing wiffle ball, basketball or badminton.

He worked for Frito Lay for 39 years. The neighborhood kids referred to him as “the Frito Man”, looking for a bag of chips that he was always willing to give out. Upon retirement, he enjoyed spending time in the garage wood working, making many items for his kids and grandkids. He also enjoyed working puzzles, listening to music, playing dominos, and watching Super Market Sweep (the original version) with Sharon.

The outpouring of love and support that has come to his family in his passing is a testament to the impact his character.

He leaves behind many, many treasures and major awards.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Miller and Nelo Gean Baggett and his brother Steve Baggett. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Baggett, his children Kyle & wife Lisa Baggett, Shane & wife Laura Baggett, Greg & wife Sue Baggett, and Lindsey & husband Corey Henderson. His grandchildren Austin, Thomas, Ethan, Isabel, Avery, Isaiah, Kaleb, Luke, Kolton, Peyton, Emily, Madison and Melody. His brothers Philip & wife Nancy Baggett and Tim & wife Janet Baggett. Sister in Law Lydia Baggett. Brother in laws Danny & wife Barbara Wilson and Melvin & wife Barbara Wilson. And many nieces and nephews.
