Thelma Josephine VanMeter, 83, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 in Arlington. Graveside Service: 10:30 a.m., Lane 3, Wednesday, January 2, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, at Wade Family Funeral Home Chapel, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington with Pastor David Jenkins officiating. Thelma was born on October 24, 1935 in Maud, Oklahoma to Guy Edwin Cox and Irene Oleta Brusenhan Cox. She worked as a school teacher. Survivors: Husband of 62 years, William R. "Bill" VanMeter; son, Edwin VanMeter and wife, Carolyn; daughters, Elaine Chapman and husband, Marc and Denise Webb; grandchildren, Erin Deer and husband, Kyle, Grant VanMeter, Candace Knox and husband, Ben, William Chapman, Erica Chapman, Marc Chapman, Mallory Chapman, Matthew Chapman, Melissa Fisher and husband, Colton, Emily Webb and Elizabeth Webb; great-grandchildren, Elowyn, Beckett, Lucy, Katelyn and Ellie.
