ARLINGTON -- Terry Ray Smith, 55, passed from this life into his heavenly life on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Arlington Memorial Hospital after a courageous seven month battle with cancer. Memorial Service: He was cremated and a memorial will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 2045 S.E. Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington where they were members. Terry was loved by so many and will be missed by all those who knew him. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. Terry was born November 20, 1957 in Fort Worth to Ray Dell and Nita Smith. He was a life long resident of Arlington and graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1976. He married Dayna Carol Croft on February 28, 1983 and they had just recently celebrated their 30th anniversary. Terry was a journeyman electrician for over 37 years and was employed with JMeg Electrical Contractors for the last 9 years. Terry was a member of Chickasaw Nation. He was also an avid car enthusiast and was very proud of his 1969 Nova which he had raced the last several years. He was a member of the Po Boy's Classic Car Club, The GM Performance Muscle Car Club and Lake Cherokee Fishing Club. Survivors: Terry is survived by his wife, Dayna; daughters, Patricia Rene Chapman and husband, Charlie, Megan Rae Ortega and husband, Michael; his parents, Ray and Nita Smith; brother, Craig and wife, Marsha; grandchildren, Dalton Ray Smith, Teagan Michelle Ortega and Payton Grace Ortega; mother and father-in-law, Patty and Joe Hensley; his life long friends, Mark Cryer, Randy Barnett; and his cat, Buddy, lovingly called "The Little Dummy" by Terry.
