Tammy Tennes

January 18, 1963 — March 25, 2025

Weatherford

Tammy Rene Tennes was born on January 18, 1963, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Robert and Beverly Bruce. She grew up in the Fort Worth ISD, graduating from Diamond Hill Jarvis High School, and went on to earn her Associate's degree. Tammy had a passion for softball, reading, crafting, and was especially talented in creating beautiful mosaic art. Throughout her life, she traveled to numerous destinations, including Belize, Alaska, Mexico, Italy, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Jamaica, the Virgin Islands, Paris, and many U.S. states and National Parks.

Tammy served in the Army Reserves, where she was stationed in Germany during the historic fall of the Berlin Wall. A devoted fan of Dr. Pepper—particularly Dr. Pepper floats—she had a vibrant personality and a keen sense of style. Tammy was always impeccably put together and never left the house without looking her best. Her radiant smile and infectious laughter brought joy to everyone around her. She embodied strength, grace, courage, and most of all, love.

In the early 2000s, Tammy founded her own business, Mosaic Creations, where she crafted stunning artwork that reached clients around the world. In 2006, she transitioned into the legal field, dedicating 18 years to her work. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she made it truly magical for her children, especially by taking them to see the Christmas lights at Joe Pool Lake every year.

Tammy faced the challenges of ALS with remarkable resilience. Despite the difficulties, she never allowed the disease to steal her joy, keeping her spirits high and her faith in Christ strong. She knew with certainty where she was headed. As a mother and grandmother, Tammy’s love was boundless—her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, always putting the needs of others before her own. The world would truly be a better place with more people like Tammy.

Tammy is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Beverly Bruce. She is survived by her son, Joseph Jenkins, and his wife, Charissa Jenkins; her daughter, Sarah-Ann Salas, and her husband, Alfredo Salas; her grandchildren, Evelyn, Lilah, Zoey, Rayla, Noah, and Luka; her brother, Robert “Buba”; her sisters, Chrystal and Amanda; her grand dogs, Charlie, Cooper, and Tucker; along with many other family members and friends.
