Tammy Johnston, a dedicated advocate for social justice, passed away unexpectedly on December 3, 2023, at the age of 62. She was a resident of Arlington, TX, where she resided at 76013. Tammy’s son, Daniel Johnston, survives her, as her pride and joy.
Born on January 18, 1961, Tammy spent her life fearlessly fighting for equitable outcomes as an adult probation officer for Dallas County. Her passion for social justice resonated through her work, touching the lives of countless individuals who sought her guidance and support. Tammy’s unwavering commitment to fairness and equality will forever be remembered and cherished.
Beyond her accomplished career, Tammy exuded warmth and compassion in her personal life. She had an exceptional bond with animals, particularly her beloved Australian Shepherd, Nicky, who sadly preceded her in death. Tammy’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her own furry companion, as she held a deep admiration for all creatures big and small.
Tammy was known for her strong will and decisive nature, characteristics that served her well both personally and professionally. As a proud Texan, she had an unwavering loyalty to the Texas Rangers, never missing a game and cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm.
A devoted mother, Tammy found immense joy in watching her son Danny play baseball over the years. From Little League to high school, she was always his biggest fan, instilling in him the values of teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship. Tammy’s love for sports did not stop there; she herself was an accomplished athlete, playing volleyball and basketball during her high school years and continuing her passion through various adult volleyball leagues.
When Tammy wasn’t cheering for her favorite sports teams or spending time with loved ones, she found solace in watching crime shows, channeling her inner detective to unravel mysteries. She embraced her self-proclaimed tomboy nature with pride, finding joy in breaking societal norms and embracing activities traditionally associated with masculinity.
Tammy is survived by her son, Danny, and a host of friends and loved ones.
As we bid farewell to Tammy, we celebrate a life lived with strength, passion, and kindness. Her memory will forever guide us, inspiring us to fight for justice and embrace our true selves.
