Sylvia Irene Khalili

Sylvia Irene (Cruz) Khalili was born on June 28, 1951 in El Paso, Texas to Flavio & Maria Cruz. She passed away on October 27, 2017 in Arlington, Texas at the age of 66. Sylvia was raised in El Paso Texas with her brother, Jimmy and sisters, Virginia and Terry. She attended El Paso Community College, at El Paso, Tx before meeting her husband, Jamal, and moving to the Dallas-Ft.Worth area to complete her degree in Dietetics and raise her family. She decided to make a career change and became a Medical Assistant through V.T.I. vocational college in Irving, Texas. She loved many aspects of the medical field such as taking x-rays and caring for others. Sylvia also attended the Ogle School of Hair, Skin, and Nails and earned her Esthetician license in skincare. She ran her own business at the Elite Spa and enjoyed giving her clients facials and massages. Before her recent retirement and death, Sylvia was an at-home caregiver for Compassionate Healthcare. Sylvia was a very nurturing, kind, compassionate, and loving person. She always saw the good in people and helped anyone she could. She was a good listener and always gave great advice to those in need. Sylvia enjoyed making special holiday gifts for her nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She traveled to several countries overseas and embraced learning about other cultures. Sylvia enjoyed sewing, cooking, dancing and entertaining people in her home. She strived to attend all family events and encouraged togetherness. Sylvia is survived by her husband, Jamal Khalili; children, Jennifer Caustrita, Valerie Burkett and husband, Scott, and Johan “Joey” Khalili. Parents, Flavio Jaime Cruz, Sr. & Maria Luisa Teran Cruz. Brother, Flavio Jaime Cruz, Jr. and children Erika, Jessica, and Andrew. Sister, Virginia Pirreca and husband, Gene. Sister, Teresa Derda and husband, Steve and children, Samantha and Adam. Grandchildren, Taylor Wright, Destiny Burkett, Christopher & Lia Littleaxe; & many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
