Sylvia Ann Hawpe

Sylvia Ann Hawpe, 83, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 in Mansfield. Private Graveside Service: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Sylvia was born on June 21, 1937 in Jacksonville, Texas to Homer Clifton Bownds and Verna Maxine Tinsley Bownds. She graduated from Forest Avenue High School in Dallas in 1955. Sylvia married the love of her life, Ronald Gayle Hawpe, on March 11, 1957. A Kennedale resident since 1986, she was a member of Woods Chapel Baptist Church in Arlington. Sylvia retired from Texas Steel Culvert Co. She loved hosting family gatherings, teaching and nurturing children. She taught the 3-year old's Sunday School for many years at University Baptist Church in Arlington. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, “Ronnie”; her parents and sister, Betty Darlene Bownds. Survivors: Daughters, Chrystanne Trask and husband, Don, Cynthanne Duryea and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Ryan Trask and wife, Janie, Aaron Trask and wife, Stephanie, Paul Duryea and Gabrielle Duryea; and 4 great-grandchildren, Abigail, Kaitlyn, Eleanor and Kensington Trask.
