Susan L. Heimann, a long time resident of Arlington, passed away on December 15, 2021 after battling metastatic breast cancer for the last 3 years. She was 60 years old.
It would be wrong to say Susan lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined to spend as much time as God would let her. Through her, we learned what true resilience and perseverance looks like. There was no quit in Susan. Even though she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight. She will continue to guide her loved ones from the best seat in the house.
Susan was a loving and devoted wife, mom, sister, cousin, friend and cherished ” Lollie” to her grandkids. She was feisty, honest, funny, kind, loving and thoughtful. She never met a stranger and was born to travel. She was always planning her next vacation with their ever faithful travel companions, Ray and Susan Wren and making sure to live life to the fullest. Playing cards, bunco, family vacations, going to the lake house, blogging and girl time with her tribe – were highlights and moments that Susan lived for. She loved her friends fiercely and her “cousin tribe” held a very special place in her heart. Her blogs could keep you rolling in laughter, as she never failed to find humor, no matter the situation.
Susan loved to volunteer at the Arlington animal shelter. She had a soft spot for cats and once wrote in her blog that she was proud to be called a “Crazy Cat Lady”. She was a firm believer that you could teach a cat a lot of things if you had patience and lots of treats. Piper, Percy, Pixie, and Pinot always made her smile and brought her comfort when she needed it the most.
Susan is survived by her husband G. Dale Heimann, son Brian Heimann and wife Christian, daughter Stacy McIntyre and husband Keith, sister Karen Elmore and husband Lloyd, brother Tim Larkin and wife Delorez, and sister-in-law Kim Manley. Grandsons Jackson and Graham Heimann, Eli, Kade and Pate McIntyre and her beloved confidants and cousins Wayne and Tracie Campbell , Kenny and Kerrie Dwyer, and forever friend and watchful care giver Natalie Malec.
She is proceed in death by her daughter, Chelsea Jewel Heimann, parents Paul and Joann Larkin, and brother Greg Larkin.
