Mrs. Susan Ann Glass-Donelan

Susan Glass-Donelan, 72, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 16, 2023, in Arlington, Texas, with her children by her side.

Susan was born August 18, 1951, to Fred and Marjorie Glass, née Johnston, in Fort Worth, Texas. She attended many schools across the country as her father’s career required them to move often. Returning to her hometown, she graduated from Arlington High School in 1969. She then attended the University of Texas at Austin, earning a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology with Honors. She again returned to Arlington where she worked for AISD until starting a family as a stay-at-home mother.

As a newly single mother of two, she met her future partner in life and business, Clive T. Donelan, at a Beginning Experience weekend. Together, Susan and Clive built a successful marriage and financial services business. Both devout Catholics, they worked, played, traveled, and served their community together through their parish, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Theater Arlington, and other endeavors.
As one of few women in the industry at the time, Susan championed other women in business. She was an intelligent, driven, and loyal lady with a quick wit and strong convictions. She loved her family, her faith, the Longhorns, playing bridge and watching football.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clive and one grandchild. She is survived by her aunt, Charlene Miller of Green River, Wyoming, her brother Greg Glass of Houston, Texas, her son Gray Strickland and wife Corie of Keller, Texas, daughter Katie Ford and husband Jason of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, 7 stepchildren, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services Monday, Dec. 4, include a Rosary at 10am and Requiem Mass at 10:30am, both at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Susan will be interred at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or American Cancer Society in her honor.
