ARLINGTON -- Steven William Baker, 65, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013.
Graveside service: 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Steve was born Feb. 11, 1948, in Middletown, Conn., where he lived until moving to Texas in 1978. He was a decorated Vietnam veteran, having been awarded the Purple Heart, Silver Star and two Bronze Stars, and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Steve will always be known as a family guy who never met a stranger.
Steve was preceded in death by parents, Dessie and Lincoln Baker, Teresa Durinick and Sebastian Russo; and siblings, Gerald, Lois, Arnold (Buddy), Sebby Jr. and AnneMarie.
Survivors: Wife, Terri; son, Steven Baker, Jr. (Sarah); daughters, Angela Baker and Cassie Sabolchick (Tim); granddaughter, Lanier Sabolchick; along with siblings, Kathy, David, Donald, Walter, Corine, Gloria, Lillian, John, Frank, Robbie, Jackie, Anna, Fran, Rosalie and Frannie; best friend of 53 years, Jack Daniels Jr., whom he always thought of as a brother; along with dozens of nieces and nephews.
