FORT WORTH -- Stafford Wilton "Jerry" Carter, 71, passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at his home in Fort Worth.
Graveside service: 2:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Lane C. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Jerry was born Oct. 23, 1943, in Abilene to Curtis Carter and Betty Stafford Carter. He attended Abilene Cooper High School before joining the U.S. Navy. Jerry was a recipient of the Purple Heart during his service.
Jerry spent his career with the Bureau of Engraving and Printing as an electronic machinist before retiring after 22 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Curtis Paul Carter.
Survivors: Wife of 35 years, Wanda Carter; daughters, Chere Carter and Rhonda Hill; sons, Joe and Michael McGlothin and Rickie Carter; sister, Betty Magee; grandchildren, Brent and Eric Hill, Max McGlothin and Jamie Osterdyke; great-grandchildren, Makaylin McGlothin and Tucker Osterdyke; and numerous nieces and nephews.
