Spencer U. Ferbend Jr. (Bob)

Spencer (Bob) Ferbend passed away April 4, 2025, after a long illness which he fought courageously.

He was born on June 27, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois to Spencer U. Ferbend, Sr. and Virginia Johnson Ferbend. Both father and son were always called, "Bob."

After graduating from Northwestern University, Bob served in the U.S. Navy. He then resided in Evanston, Illinois where he was part of the family marine business. In 1974 he moved his family to Arlington, Texas where he continued in marine sales, later establishing a Dallas-based advertising business.

Bob was a member of the Arlington Goodtimes Chorus where he formed lasting friendships with others who shared his love of singing.

He was predeceased by his parents; brother, John Paul Ferbend; sons, Robert Ferbend and Richard Ferbend; and stepson, David Laughlin.

Bob is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Elly) Ferbend; son, Tom Ferbend; stepchildren, Matt Laughlin (Anne) and Jane Murphy (Joe Fitzgibbon); step grandchildren, Austin Cariati (Joe), Connor Fields (Daniela), Nicholas Laughlin and Adam Laughlin; and extended family, Gene and Jan Fields and Rosemary Laughlin.

A Requiem Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at St.

Alban's Anglican Church, 911 S. Davis Dr., Arlington, TX 76013.
