Somphou Inthanousay

Somphou Inthanousay, 85, passed away peacefully in his home in Grand Prairie, Texas on December 8th, 2021.

Somphou Inthanousay was born on June 2nd, 1936 in Ban Hom, Vientiane, Laos, to parents, Temp and Gieng Inthanousay. He is the youngest child of 3 boys and 3 girls.

He moved to Thatkhao, Vientiane, Laos after completing his primary education. After the end of World War II, he joined the Lao Royal Army in 1954 and later transferred to the Lao Royal Air Force in 1964 where he became a Major (Commandant) and served his country.

Somphou met the love of his life and lifelong companion, Khamket, in Savannakhet, Laos and got married in 1957. They had 5 children, 2 sons – David and Pohn, and 3 daughters – Davisay, Thavisay, and Vanh. Somphou also had a total of 12 grandchildren.

Somphou took the family and immigrated to Dallas, Texas, United States, in 1979 after Laos fell to Communist Pathet Lao.

In Dallas, he worked as an electronic assembler and machine operator for 20 years. During his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He also loved going to lakes and fishing.

Somphou is survived by his wife, Khamket, of 64 years. Other survivors include 5 children and spouses, David Inthanousay (Dao), Pohn Inthanousay (Thatsanala), Davisay Duong (Quang), Thavisay Noungthaline, and Vanh Phromsavanh. Grandchildren include: Jenny Inthanousay (Lauren), David Inthanousay, Jr., Nupohn Inthanousay, Nudohn Inthanousay, Anusonn Inthanousay, Alexus Inthanousay, Dennis Duong, Katelina Duong, Peter Sourygnavong (Jennifer), Pauline Sourygnavong, Jeremy Phromsavanh, and Ashley Phromsavanh.

The service for Somphou Inthanousay will be held on December 16, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Texas.
