Sofie Martinez Jimenez, a loving mother, grandmother great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on October 3, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born on January 21, 1939, in San Antonio, Texas.

Sofie was a compassionate person who always went out of her way to help others. She wore a smile that could light up any room and had a heart filled with kindness. She had a passion for dancing and baking, and her pumpkin pies and pumpkin bread were always a hit during the holidays. Sofie loved to spoil her loved ones with presents and would often surprise them with her delicious candy and cookies.

As a strong and protective woman, Sofie was devoted to her family. She worked tirelessly to provide for her daughters and grandchildren, always putting their needs first. Her calm and unselfish demeanor never faltered, and she believed in the importance of proper manners and respect for women.

In her professional life, Sofie excelled as a beautician and later became an orthodontic assistant, retiring at the age of 62. However, retirement did not stop her from continuing to spread joy. She worked at Walmart for 20 years, where she formed connections with countless people and touched their lives with her warm and friendly nature.

Sofie had an eye for beauty and was a licensed interior decorator. She enjoyed refinishing furniture and had a talent for creating spaces that were both aesthetically pleasing and inviting. Her love for sewing and arts and crafts allowed her to infuse her personal touch into everything she created.

Sofie’s contagious happiness and her ability to find the positive in any situation will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, compassion, and resilience will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

The funeral services for Sofie Martinez Jimenez will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 9, at Wade Family Funeral Home Chapel, located at 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation from 4-5:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, at the funeral home.

Sofie was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, George, Rudy, Juan; and sister, Lupe; and beloved daughter, Becky Ellis.

Survivors: Ex-husband and dear friend, Guillermo, Jimenez; daughter, Arlene Kim and husband, Frank; sister, Stella; 6 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
