Skip Santillo

October 28, 1943 — February 6, 2017

Skip Sanitllo, 73, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 in Arlington, Texas. Funeral: 12 Noon Tuesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: 2 p.m. in Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Skip was born to Frank and Elsie Santillo on October 28, 1943 In Lambertville, New Jersey. After graduating college, Skip entered the United States Marine Corp in February of 1963. In August 1968 he entered the United Sates Army for his second tour of duty. During his time of service for his country he was awarded the National Defense Services Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device, Army Aviator Badge, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and Air Medal with 18th Award Combat Air Insignia with 3 Bronze Service Stars. After leaving the Military he settled in Texas where he always knew he was meant to be. After settling in Texas Skip continued to fly with PHI until starting his own successful company in 1980, which he continued to run until his passing. Skips love of animals led him to rescue several greyhounds and spoil them rotten. He enjoyed spending time at the gun range, off-roading in the Hummers and long fast drives in the Corvettes to relax. Skip was a very loving and caring man who was passionate about his opinions and would do anything to help the people he loved. Skip is survived by his loving wife Karen Santillo, of Arlington, Texas. Daughter Latisha Evans and grandson Connor, of Grand Prairie, Texas. Daughter Missy Aaron of Petrolia, Texas. Granddaughter and grandson in law Amanda and Taner McDonald and great grandchildren Bryse and Tiera, of Petrolia, Texas. Granddaughters Shauna and Stephanie Warren, of Mineral Wells, Texas. Nephew Brian Santillo, of Atlanta, Georgia. Sister in law Gwen Runyan, of Mansfield, Texas. Brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Terri Evans of Gatesville, Texas. And numerous family and friends. Skip was truly loved by many and will be deeply missed by all.
