Shirley Anne Bracken

ARLINGTON -- Shirley Anne Bracken, 79, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014. Memorial service: 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Inurnment: 2:30 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, www.arthritis.org. Shirley was born Dec. 14, 1934, in Brunswick, Ga., to John Bufford and Audrey Smith Franklin. She was an Arlington resident since 1968 and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Community. Shirley was devoted to her family, enjoyed art, ceramics and floral arranging. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 65 years, Norman Gene Bracken. Survivors: Sons, Jeff Bracken and wife, Theresa, and Marc Bracken and wife, Cindy; daughters, Cindy Bracken, Susan Pesquera Thornton, Carol Bracken and Vicki Bracken; sister, Patricia Glenn; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
