Shirley Virginia Price

ARLINGTON -- After 83 years of putting others first and taking care of her family and friends, Shirley Virginia Moyer Price gave one last order on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 - enjoy the memories but don't cry for long. Funeral Service: Friends are invited to celebrate Shirley's life at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington with Brother Frank Liedkie officiating. Interment: 2:00 p.m. Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Lane A. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Shirley's life was one filled with unconditional love, a soft spot for the needy, some sort of crazy adventure and several jokes or stories that left you grinning. The world, nor our hearts, will ever be the same. Shirley was born on Feb. 14, 1930 in Dunbar, PA to Richard and Elizabeth Moyer. After graduating Waynesboro College, she joined the US Air Force as a WAF dental tech. During her six and a half years of service she met and married her soul mate, Albert Lee Price, on May 1, 1957 and had their only son, Richard Alan a year later. She had a deep passion for giving and cherished every little life moment with her family which was clear when she spent every day by Al's side during his battle with West Nile. She was stubborn, strong, funny, slightly crazy, and the center of the Price family. Survivors: Shirley is survived by her husband of 56 1/2 years, Al Price of Arlington; her son, Richard Price and daughter -in-law, Kathy of Dalworthington Gardens; grandchildren, Katie Price of Arlington, and Kallie and Jack Jenkins of Arlington; great-grandsons, Jake and Brody Jenkins; sisters, Gertrude Cassidy of Maryland, Joanne Mateer of Michigan, Frances Fornof of Tennessee; and several nieces, nephews and family friends.
