It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Marie Rivera on November 30, 2023. Shirley was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully.
Shirley, was an extraordinary woman and our family was blessed to call her Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt and Grandmother. She graduated from Hutto High School in 1955 and after graduating, she moved Austin, Texas where she met and married Bert Rivera. Together they had 2 children Sharon & Brenda. Shirley was a wonderful loving wife/mother who gave her all to her family. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in life with courage and dignity. She was a source of inspiration to us all and will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Shirley had a long career with the Travis County Juvenile Dept. retiring in 1988 as the Director of the Domestic Relations.
She was preceded in death by her father, “Kid” Orn, her mother Rosie Bell, three brothers Stanley, Norman & Curtis and her sister Rosie.
She was survived by her husband Bert, daughters Sharon Miller & Brenda Carlson, 5 grandchildren and 4 Great Grand Children, and 5 siblings.
