Sarah Margaret Holtman, 76, passed away Saturday April 4, 2021 @ 2:11 pm in the afternoon, both too soon and too fast. The Memorial service will be April 22nd @ 10:30 a.m. at DFW National Cemetery and due to covid restrictions at the location, it shall be limited to family only. After the memorial, Dennis will open his home to friends and family to pay respects as a come and go gathering from 12:30 - 5pm. Memorials: If you would like to donate in lieu of flowers, donations shall be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1200 W. Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington Texas, on behalf of Sarah Holtman and be used for the creation of a memorial garden on her behalf. Sarah was born on December 28, 1944 In Dallas, Texas to Ray Owen Mayo and Quana Margaret Mayo. She graduated from North Grand Prairie High School in 1963. She met her future husband Dennis Lee Holtman on a blind date and new it was forever. They were married on August 1, 1964. With a brief time in California they moved to Arlington, Texas to call it home and start a family. After 18 years, Sarah went back to college to attend the University of Texas at Arlington and graduated with honors at the top of her class in 1986. She began her career as a Teacher for the Arlington Independent School District. She taught at Hutcherson Junior High, James Bowie High School and “the Ranch”, a school for troubled youth in Canton, Texas where she retired with a total of 20 years teaching. After retirement, she went to work at weight watchers that was more than a job, it was social time with friends and a lifestyle. In addition to her family, Sarah loved gardening and spent hours and days tending to the plants that brought her and countless others joy. She was a strong believer of Christ and an active member of her Church, active in Alpha and a leader in Stephen Ministries as well as a Stephen Ministries Care Giver. Sarah was proceeded in death by her parents and her beloved brother Dan Ray Mayo. Survived by: Husband, Dennis Lee Holtman; Son, Dennis Lynn Holtman and wife Bunnary; Son, Matthew Ray Holtman and wife Mary; Grand Children, Jeremy, Colyn, Caitlyn, Sophia, Samantha, Mackenzie, Abigail, Elizabeth, Michael, Katherine, Jonathan and Christopher.
