Sapphire Jasmine-Rose Thomas was born on Sunday, October 12, 1980 in the Parish of Manchester, Jamaica. Sapphire or "Saphi" as she was affectionately called, attended Midland and Suthermere Preparatory School. While at Suthermere prep, she passed her common entrance exam, and was awarded a place at the Queens High School in Kingston Jamaica. She also attended Christ the King Catholic High school in St. John's Antigua and Barbuda, and at the age of 14 graduated from El Shaddai Christian School in Houston Texas. After graduating high school, she attended Mountain View Community College where she received her Associate Degree in Science. She also attended the University of Texas at Arlington and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology Degree.
Saphi had a great love for the sciences. After graduation she pursued a career in the field of research, and for the past ten years worked as a Clinical Research Manager. This position allowed her to travel extensively throughout the United States. Saphi was known by many as an eloquent speaker, writer and presenter.
Saphi loved reading the word of God. She enjoyed listening to contemporary Christian music, hymns, Jamaican folk songs, reggae and classical music.
Saphi is greatly love by her family and friends, and her memories will always live forever in our hearts.
Sapphire was survived by her parents Hilton and Beverley Scott-Thomas, siblings: Samaria, John and his wife Latrice, Tina, Paul, Gabriel and Joseph. Nieces: Navaeh, Skye and Sunday –Rose. Aunties: Karen, Carol, Beverley Chisholm, Elaine Bailey, Minnett Hermitt, Jenrose Francis, Viviane and her husband Paul, Juliet and Rhona Thomas. Uncles: Paul, Peter and his wife Suzette, Barrington and his wife Georgia, Donavon, Randolph Scott. Lowell and his wife Winsome Maxwell, Worrell and Pauline, Leighton and his wife Grace, Carey and his wife Solome, Delvin, Wayne and his wife Rachel, Philmore Thomas, Cousins, other relatives and many dear and wonderful friends.
