Sally Jane Smith

GRAND PRAIRIE -- Sally Jane Jeffries Smith took the Lord's hand Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at her home in Grand Prairie, surrounded by her family after a battle with cancer. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations are made to the American Cancer Society. Sally was born June 30, 1938, in Excelsior Springs, Mo. She was the daughter of Dempster and Eileen Jeffries. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors: Husband, Lester Clark Smith; children, Jan Harper (Mike), Joy Hicks (Ben), Jay Morse (Shannon) and Ginny Scales; stepchildren, Mike Smith (Lori), Carrie Maulin (John) and Brian Smith; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a very special cousin, Libby Unger (Charles).
